Our June elections select the executive officers and governing board of the association. 

Over the years, many chiropractors have served in these capacities and we are grateful for their years

of dedication to the ideals and principles of the association.  



DR. DEAN SHIVVERS, DC  grew up in a small town near Des Moines, Iowa. He received

his Doctorate degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences in Los Angeles

in 2013. While working his way through graduate school, Dr. Dean was also the president

of the Gonstead Club, which promotes a specific chiropractic technique that he utilizes in the

treatment of patients. He has been actively practicing in Hawaii for 7 years and has served as

Oahu Island Director and Vice President. He has four offices on the island of Oahu.  



DR. TANNER UNDERDAHL, DC  grew up in a small rural town of Hampton, MN. He attended undergraduate

school at the University of Minnesota, Morris, where he graduated with a BA in Biology. From there he moved

to Davenport, IA, where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 2015.

Dr. Underdahl is currently working at Turning Point Chiropractic on the island of Oahu. In his spare time he likes

to head outside for some hiking, snorkeling, or even trying new places to eat. He is also regularly involved in

activities with the church he attends.



DR. JOSEPH G. MORELLI, DC, FICC, graduated from the Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1978 and

has been in active practice for 41 years here in Hawaii. He has served the HSCA as President,

Immediate Past President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Oahu Island Director. Dr. Morelli was

named HSCA Chiropractor of the Year in 2009. Nationally, He currently represents Hawaii & the

US Pacific Territories in the American Chiropractic Association House of Delegates.

Dr. Morelli formerly served on the Governing Board of the American Chiropractic Association, as Governor of

District 7, representing: Hawaii, California, Nevada, & the US Pacific: American Samoa, Guam and

the Northern Mariana Islands.








BOARD MEMBERS (June 2020 THRU June 2021)

Because Hawaii is an island state with doctors practicing on 5 different islands, our Board

is made up of representatives from each major island to insure that everyone's interests are served.

We communicate primarily through regular digital teleconferenced Board meetings, phone, fax & e-mails.





DR. ROBERT KLEIN, DC, DABCO graduated National College of Chiropractic in 1978. He taught at that

school and practiced part-time until 1980, when he moved to Hilo. He has continually provided care to the community

for 40 years and now runs a multi-doctor office with Dr. Rachel Klein and Dr. John Kim. Dr. Klein holds special

certifications in Chiropractic Orthopedics, Applied Kinesiology, Impairment Rating and the Graston Technique. He has

taught numerous post-graduate seminars in Hawaii, served 12 years on the State Board of Chiropractic and as examiner

for the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. He has held many offices in chiropractic associations at county, state

and national levels. Dr. Klein believes that thorough examination and accurate diagnosis are the keys to finding the best

form of treatment. With a wide variety of natural methods available, the greatest success depends on matching the type

of care to the needs of each individual.




DR. ALBERT VALENZUELA, DC, aka: Dr. "V", returned from the mainland back to practice 

on the Big Island. From 1985 to 2008 he owned and operated Kona Chiropractic Clinic in Kailua-Kona.

He now works with Dr. Albert Police, DC (son of former Kona Chiropractor Dr. Rhody Edwards).

He graduated from Palmer Chiropractic College-West in 1983. He has been politically active with the

HSCA for over the last decade, holding the office of West Hawaii Island Director multiple times.

He is happily married to his wife Kelly, and together have 7 children.  








DR. RICHARD L. WILCOX, DC, CCSP has been an HSCA chiropractor in Maui since April, 1988.

He was the first certified sports chiropractor in the state, He founded the HSCA Sports Council in 1992

and has represented the HSCA at numerous professional sporting events around the islands including

the Hula Bowl, Mercedes Up and Lincoln Mercury International Golf Tournaments to name a few.

He was an associate professor in technique for the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic and a post-graduate

course instructor for various groups. His hobbies are skiing, hiking and martial arts.

He currently holds a 6th Degree Master level Dan in Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan (Traditional Korean Martial Art) 




 JANET JORDAN, CAE, began her career in association management in 1989 and earned her Certified

Association Executive designation in 2004. She opened her own association management company in

1996 and provides full service management from her home based office in South Carolina to two state

associations and administrative support to two non-profit organizations. Janet first became affiliated with

chiropractic organizations when she served for seven years as Executive Director of the South Carolina

Chiropractic Association. She served twelve years as Executive Director of the Congress of Chiropractic

State Associations and currently provides administrative support for the Council on Chiropractic Guidelines

and Practice Parameters (CCCPP) and the Hawaii State Chiropractic Association. Janet is a member of the

American Society of Association Executives and the South Carolina Society of Association Executives. Janet’s

latest entrepreneurial adventure is launching Two Gals and a Fork Food Tours with a friend in 2014 after being

inspired in Seattle while attending a CCGPP meeting. Janet and her husband Steve live on the shores of

Lake Murray in Irmo, SC, with their beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Ruby and Tana. When not boating

on the lake, they enjoy vacationing in Lake Lure, NC, and St. Thomas, VI.
